I have listed minerals/ores you can not find with a certain finder (to extent of what FPC players who used EF know).
Data sourced in this thread has allowed us to reach some conclusions:
Finders have a limited depth range. 95% of finds will be located within ±200m of the average search depth stated on the finder.
Every Ore and Enmatter has it's own minimum depths. Maximum depths are 1000m for all enmatters/ores
Finding a mineral requires a finder with an appropriate depth range. For example, you cannot expect to find Ferrum Nuts (700m) with a TT finder (average search depth 204m)
Deeper finders find a wider range of minerals.
A shallow finder that finds lyst does not necessarily mean a deep finder used in the same area will find lyst.
The rarest of ores have a very small depth range, and begin from 600/700/800/900m. Your own testing and research will reveal what you can find and where.

Anomalous finds
There are two kinds of anomalous finds. Anomalous finds may be uncovered with any type of finder, amped or unamped.
(1) Robot Spaceship NB: Robot Spaceships are not findable at present, since inception of VU 10.0
This occurs instead of getting a claim. Your finder tells you you have detected a strange signal - the spaceship is usually between 100-200m from where you drop a bomb/probe.

Robot Spaceships may not be found on CND.
(2) Finding "Something out of the ordinary" (SOOTO)
When you find a claim, there is a small chance you may find something else along with that claim (it will instantly appear in your loot window).
There are two "common" finds:
Angel Scales (refines to Light Mail)
Hansidian Rock
The current known chances of getting a SOOTO or a spaceship find is currently known to be around 1/1000 to 1/4000. You can expect to find at least one of these every 2000 bomb or probe drops.
Uncommon finds include DNA parts and Unlimited Mining Amps. These are extremely rare and highly valued.
