Just a stub for now.
Repairing stuff with a Vehicle Repair Kit (Rk-5(L) or RK-20(L)) not only gets your Vehicle Structural Engineer (VSE, yes I know it's a coincidence with the sweating tool) profession up, but also a lot of other crafting-related stuff, Intelligence and Hit Points.
- Fix vehicles in Icarus: this is basically the first idea to start trying it. Offer (or don't, just do) to fix spawned vehicles for free. Low turnover usually, needs patience.
- Fix walls during robot attacks: usually some competition, and in Lahar the Ottos don't do enough damage to sustain more than one repairer usually. Pandora is a great opportunity, but needs more than one to be kept up.
- Repair runs on a capital ship: high turnover, so very nice skilling. Fix one of the repair stations on a big spacecraft while it is getting hammered by mobs. Make sure you follow the usual space rules (no lootables) before going up and keep in mind you might be on the team for some time (single run usually taking hours, during which time you are trapped on the capital ship if you don't have a means to fly away) (FIXME do the Privateers have hangars too?)
and another stub about
Repairing a Mothership
There are 4 stations: Command Center (CC), Reactor, Propulsion and Hangar.
CC, Reactor and Prop can be reached without using the televator, Hangar not.
This means that helping out is more easy, especially for firsttimers, in the CC/Reacor/Prop block.
- When helping out, make sure you don't fix the station to the full 100% since a lot of people tend to go afk (like when sweating) and at 100% the auto-use would stop on their avas.
- put a strong repairer at the reactor so he can reach CC and prop when needed easily
- CC prolly best for new people since biggest station
- with 2 RK-5 at hangar, one at CC/prop and a SK20 at reactor should be evenly distributed, as an example
