Welcome back to the relaunched and reoriented EntropiaForum!
As you are probably aware, Entropia Universe has undergone dramatic changes in the past 18 months, and yet more exciting changes are due in the upcoming year. New planets, new development studios creating content for those planets, new features and lots more. It seems another major Entropia Universe announcement is being made with every passing week.
In light of all these changes, it seemed natural with this relaunch to adjust the focus and mission of EntropiaForum within the EU community. Until about 9 months ago (before any of the new planets had actually been launched), EntropiaForum was in actuality a 'Calypso' forum, considering that Calypso comprised the entirety of Entropia Universe.
However, the launch of ROCKTropia earlier this year and the impending launch of other planets such as Next Island and Planet Cyrene in the coming months (as well as several others expected in 2011 such as Planet Michael and Universal Monsters) has dramatically broadened the current and future scope of Entropia Universe.
Accordingly, EntropiaForum has been reorganized and refocused with the goal of becoming a true
Entropia forum: a community where EU participants from all of the different planets can interact, share knowledge and experiences, and discuss all aspects of this amazing virtual universe we all enjoy so much.
As veteran members will no doubt notice, the structure of EF's various forum sections and subforums has been completely reorganized. Each EU planet now has its own dedicated forum category. The released and established planets, such as Planet Calypso and ROCKTropia, already have quite a few subforums available in order to allow members to easily find threads of interest. As other planets are released, additional subforums will be added as activity in those sections increases.
Several exciting new forum features related specifically to the new planets are also in the works that will facilitate communication, announcements and news for each planet.
At the same time, all of the custom EntropiaForum features, enhancements and addons that members have grown to love over the years have remained: EFD system, activity rankings, gallery, chatroom, etc.
Brand new custom forum templates featuring post-VU10 high-quality graphics are in the process of being designed, and will be implemented soon. The original plan was to unveil those new templates upon EF's relaunch. However, development of the new skins has taken a bit longer than expected, so I decided it was better to reopen the forums sooner rather than later.
Once again, I welcome you back to EntropiaForum, and look forward to reigniting the unique and passionate community that EntropiaForum has had the honor to serve for the past 5+ years.
