Hi Droops,

In order for us to help you further, we need to ascertain that your computer meets the requirements for running the Entropia Universe. Below is a list with requirements as well as some troubleshooting hints:

Please perform the following checks:

1) Does your computer meet our minimum requirements? If your computer fails to meet the following standards, we will unfortunately not able to offer further support.

Please have a look at the system requirements, which you can find at this address

http://www.planetcalypso.com/support...-requirements/

If you are not sure how your computer is configured, you can run dxdiag which is a small Microsoft utility included with DirectX. This utility will enable you to display information concerning your system. You start the utility by choosing "Run" from the Start-menu and typing dxdiag in the dialog box. Click the Ok button.

2) Do all lights turn green in the system check when you run it? The system check is found under 'Client status' on the Entropia Universe Login Window.

3) Do you have a firewall?

These ports need to be opened in your firewall if you wish to participate in the Entropia Universe:

• 20, 21 (TCP Outbound) - Additional TCP port outbound for passive mode FTP

• 30584 (UDP inbound/outbound)

4) Do you have a router? Make sure that the correct ports for the Entropia Universe are open, as for a firewall. Maybe you also need to update the firmware of your router. Please contact the manufacturer of your router for further assistance.

5) If all requirements are met, the difficulty may be due by your Internet connection settings. You can change the Connection speed on the Entropia Universe Login Window under ‘Options’ (button in left bottom corner) in the ‘General’ section. Even if you have ADSL or an even better connection, try setting the connection speed to 56 kbit to check if that improves your situation. If this resolves your issue, you may try to increase the setting step by step, to see which connection speed works best for your system.

6) You could also try disabling the sound under ‘Options’ in the Entropia Universe Login Window to see if this improves your situation.

Please let us know whether these checks have helped you resolve your difficulties.

Kind regards,
Entropia Universe Support

Thanks for all the suggestions though they have nothing to do with it !

Its a known Vista problem that many many times Eu wont shut down normal when trying to leave the game.

So i suggest u search the problem within the compatability between Eu and Vista.

Hoping to hear from u soon

Hi,

If you are experiencing problems when trying to shut down EU using Vista it is most likely caused by another process running in the background on your system. If it was a known problem in Vista we would probably know about it know since thousands of our customers are running EU on Vista. If you could share the source of this information about it being a well known problem we would be more than happy to receive it so we could have a closer look at it.

We suggest you try to minimize the number of non systemcritical processes and services running on your system the next time you exit the EU-client to see if the problem still persists. If it still does, the EU-installation might afterall be corrupt.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Kind regards,
Entropia Universe Support

These are just a few so when needed i can provide u with much more !

And ur last suggestion about reinstalling EU is NOT an option, already tried that !

Sofar seems this only excists when running Vista there are no problems when on XP for example.

Hi,

Have you tried "Run as administrator" by right clicking on the Entropia.exe file, or if that does not work, try the clientloader.exe file.

This is because the Windows Vista UAC (User Account Control) limits the privileges of applications for security reasons.

We advise you to have a look and please let us know how it went.

Uhm not a good suggestion either i am afraid how can i run as admin when i want to shut down Eu by pressing the escape button and then press yes ?

And yes when installing u need to run as Admin thats well known for most people but that has nothing to do with shutting down Eu !

Everybody i speak and running on Vista has this problem so it might be a suggestion that u test it.

Unfortunatly i cant give u screenshots because there is no error message, Eu just hangs in about 60% off the cases.

Currently running a test department of a very large IT Company this can not be to hard for u to reproduce, which in my opinion is the only way to find a solution.

regards,

Droops

lol!

Have the same Problem bom

And no its not the computer cause my duo-core with 4gig ram should work.
And no its not my internet connection cause a 5K internet connection should be enough to run 5 games like Entropia at the same time. tongue

But funny ticket, the best is: if it was a common problem, we would know of it lol
